Mike Gurfield is a freelance video editor and motion graphics animator based in New York City, with over 18 years' experience crafting visual narratives for broadcast and theatrical release, branded content, social media campaigns, and digital channels. Mike's client list includes Fortune 500 companies, video game developers, independent content producers, filmmakers, national non-profit organizations, and small businesses. At home in every popular NLE including Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro, Apple Final Cut Pro X, and Davinci Resolve, Mike is similarly adept at all-things After Effects for motion graphics, compositing, rotoscoping, tracking, and creating 2D visual effects. An accomplished classical record producer as well, Mike edits, mixes, and masters audio in Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, and Audition. A conservatory-trained musician, Mike's feel for the rhythm and pace shine in every edit. As a producer, Mike is experienced at the entire production pipeline, from concept and storyboarding, to lighting and shooting, to edit, color, audio mix, and conforming, and through to final delivery.
When he’s not editing, you can usually find Mike walking his dog, skiing, hiking, or using every pot and pan in the kitchen to make an overly-elaborate dinner for his wife.
